Né à Berlin (Ouest), H.C. Rainer BÜCHNER a passé la majeure partie de sa vie en Bavière. Diplômé de l'Académie des Beaux-Arts, il exerça longtemps comme professeur en histoire de l'art avant de s’installer en 2010 sur les berges de l’Orb, qui roule aujourd’hui les galets auxquels il ajoute des ailes pour en faire ses Anges gardiens.
Travailleur passionné du fer, amoureux du bleu Majorelle, adepte de la découpe au plasma et de la galvanisation de l’acier, Rainer BÜCHNER s’attache à animer la matière au sens premier du terme : « Pour moi, le défi consiste à transformer un morceau brut et dur en une figure qui ait du caractère, de lui donner une touche de douceur et ainsi, de faire vivre le métal. »

Born in (West) Berlin, H.C. Rainer BÜCHNER spent most of his life in Bavaria. After graduating from Munich Beaux-Arts Academy, he worked for a long time as a professor of art history before settling in 2010 on the banks of the river Orb, which today rolls the pebbles to which he adds wings to make him his guardian angels.
Passionate iron worker, lover of Majorelle blue, fan of plasma cutting and galvanization of steel, Rainer BÜCHNER strives to animate the material in the first sense of the term: “For me, the challenge is to turn a raw and hard piece into a figure with character, to give it a touch of softness and thus, to make the metal live.”
Is it not so that inanimate objects acquire a soul?
